The Emergency Department services Young County, the lake country area and surrounding counties. Board certified and highly trained medical personnel are here 24 hours a day for anyone that seeks emergency care regardless of age, sex, disability or ability to pay. Average annual visits are 7,000 and vary from minor care to major trauma. GRMC ER has an excellent standing as a Level IV Trauma Center, designated through the state of Texas, and has demonstrated an ability to provide advanced trauma life support (ATLS) prior to transfer of patients to a higher-level trauma center. We provide evaluation, stabilization, and diagnostic capabilities for injured patients with around the clock X-ray and Computerized Tomography (CT). Capabilities with life saving medication rival large city Emergency rooms to include antivenin for snake bites, Alteplase for ischemic strokes and Tnkase for acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks).
