
Med/Surgical Nursing
Nursing and allied staff of Graham Regional Medical Center work to ensure that hospital patients receive appropriate care ordered by physicians.
Med/Surg floor nurses maintain patient comfort while providing ongoing nursing care.
The ICU provides comprehensive care to adult medical/surgical patients requiring intense monitoring and nursing care.
The scope of care includes the medical and nursing management of patients:
- Who experience the acute onset of any disease affecting any organ system.
- Who are at risk of developing life-threatening complications as a result of their acute disease state.
- Who suffer exacerbations of chronic disease states.
Patient care in the ICU includes early detection and prevention of complications, management of complex physiological problems, patient/family education, and family psychosocial support systems.
